Hey Everyone!
I've already read up on a lot of posts on the M1210 GPU problem and noticed that a lot of people have been experiencing the same symptoms I have been experiencing. However, there are still some unanswered questions.
So I did the FN+Power On thing and it gave me a BLINKING-ON-ON error code (CPU Failure). I figured it didn't give me the GPU blinking code, so I went ahead on ordered a replacement CPU (a compatible one of course). I just installed it today and it didn't work! $100 down the drain.
After powering it up a few times, I realized that the main fan wasn't spinning at all. So I just landed $20 on a new fan and we'll see what happens when it arrives.
So that raises the following questions: Will a broken fan produce the CPU Failure blinking message? Will a baked GPU produce the CPU Failure blinking message? If so, why didn't it give me the failed GPU blinking message?
Anyway, thanks in advance for any help I get! I'll probably post an update after I change the fan.

So how did the fan change go?

Well, I'm disinclined to reply to a four month old thread, but it I'd bet that it didn't work. A dead fan will not prevent the system from powering up; a dead fan just won't work at all. In my experience, Dell laptops don't run their fan(s) at boot; the stopped fan isn't a symptom of anything.
