    Have any of you ever heard of any cases in which an xps m1210 intermittently makes an annoying amount of noise in the form of relatively high pitched whirring/screeching?

    I have an xps m1210 (pre-vista) with a core duo processor and have heard from a buddy of mine that core duo processors in the past have made some high pitched whirring but I'm not sure what to make of it.
