    Can anyone confirm that after removing the MediaDirect partition, the MediaDirect button will do no harm to my computer when i press it.

    And the button will become just another boot button if pressed while the computer is off?

    Search the forums, question has been answered several times and even ways to use the MD button to boot into another OS have been discovered.
