I have a Dell XPS M1330 which recently crashed and required a fresh install of Windows, including all of the hardware drivers &c. Everything went well with the fresh install except for my screen resolution which seems to have changed.

I used to have 1440 x 900 screen resolution but now I only get 1280 x 800 and there's no option for a higher resolution. Does anyone know why this may have happened? I'm also open to the possibility that I'm just deluding myself and never actually had a higher resolution - if it is known that such a resolution is not possible on this laptop. Otherwise, please tell me how to change it back!

If you really do have the 1440x900, then all you need is to install new video drivers then. Get them from nvidia or laptopvideo2go and see how it goes then.

You are correct lol .. the 1330 never had a 1440 x 900 resolution, only 1280 x 800. Don't things look the same on the screen as they always did? :p
