Is the screen on the M1330 usable outdoors? I'm going on a vacation and would like to use my laptop outdoors in the shade, but I don't want to have to strain to see the screen.

I've got the CCFL screen and have had no problem watching TV, or surfing outside.

Absolutely fine in the shade. And it doesn't even have to be on full brightness.
