I have a brand new M1330 running vista ultimate x64. I have grabbed all of the 64 bit drivers and did a fresh install and all devices seem to be running properly. I have 2.5Ghz T9300, 4GB ram and the intel based X3100 on board video.

For some reason my laptop is fast but Internet Explorer is TERRIBLE. I haven't got any plugins or anything loaded other than flash from adobe's site. Web pages are ridiculously slow to load and many times I have to hit F5 to get the page to load or it just sits there forever. This is unbearable. Has anyone seen this problem? Doesn't matter what internet connection I use work or home surfing is dog slow and needs constant refreshes to get pages to load all the way.

I've had several dell laptops and have installed my own fresh 64 bit OSes so I am very familiar with the process and I work in IT.

I'm at my wits end here!

Yeah try a different browser first.

Are you using 32bit or 64bit IE? (theres 2 of them)

I am using whatever the default is. I imagine the 32 bit browser is the default. I

I installed mozilla firefox this morning and it seems to be running faster and more reliably now.

I really prefer IE. I understand most of you don't. But I've never had this problem with IE before and would really love to get IE working properly. Would the 64 bit version run better? I've heard that most plugins don't work with it.

its not a problem.. IE is just alot slower than other browsers...x64 may be a little better but no where near the performance of other browsers

IE sucks period. Get FF3 or Opera, or both.

I've been messing with Safari for Vista as well as FF3 and both are excellent in my book.

You can give Firefox 64-bit a try at http://www.vector64.com/WindowsBuilds.html if you want to. Plugins don't work (as opposed to extensions). You don't see flash, shockwave, Java, etc. But sometimes that makes the experience better.
