At random times but every few minutes, I keep getting BSODs that reference tdx.sys.

The problem seems to occur only if my integrated Broadcom wired LAN adapter is connected. I recently ran it for a few hours straight while using wi-fi and no LAN and it did not BSOD at all.

I have read online it has to do with the Broadcom drivers, but even after updating the drivers, the problem still exists. I also tried uninstalling the drivers from Dev. Manager and letting Windows reinstall whatever it wanted. Still no dice.

Does anyone know what the problem is and how to resolve it?

Read this. Apparently this exists in Win7 beta, the fix(which is included in Vista SP1) hasn't been implemented for some reason...The workaround is to disable the network adapter or to unplug the network cable.

Edit: You can request a separate hotfix for that but it's very possible that the hotfix won't work with W7.

Thanks very much for the link and info. Why, if it's already fixed in SP1, would MS go backward and not include it in the W7 beta?

Also, if I do request the patch and it won't allow the install on W7, would manually overwriting the file fix it? I also have Vista x64 SP1 on my M133O so I could just overwrite the W7 one with my good Vista SP1 copy. Is that not a good idea?

    No idea :)

I don't know what does the patch do, if it DOES replace the files then yes, I suppose you can get the files from your existing Vista SP1 installation and overwrite them. I'd give it a shot..

While running Vista, even after I answer Continue to the UAC prompt, it won't let me replace the file in Windows 7's x:\windows\system32\drivers folder, where tdx.sys is located (access denied?). Maybe I'll do it from a boot CD.

When you're working with system files you need to do this first.
