so the 4 and 6 cell dont stick out but the 9 cell does...

i knew this before but i ended up ordering it with two 9 cells... should i switch the order so that its a 6 cell and a 9 cell rather than two 9 cells? does it really make THAT much of a difference space, apperance, and weight wise?

I ordered mine with the 4 cell + 9 cell.

Also added the Dell slim power adapter for home, car, and air.

I wanted the extra power of the 9-cell, but couldn't stand the thought of that ugly thing propping up the back of the notebook. So I stuck with the 6-cell.

I hope it has a sturdy battery mounting system, because I would think there would be a good deal of strain from the leverage created there. I expect as it is an XPS model it should be fine though.

I ordered the 9-cell thinking i need that extra long power, but before I get it shipped i'm now thinking of changing it to the 6-cell. Is it really that bulky? Does anyone have any pics they can post of the 9-cell vs the 6-cell?

    Thanks in advance

Pakman7313, you can see in these pics that the 6-cell sits flush with the back of the unit, whereas the 9-cell protrudes back and also downward. Normally, the laptop rests on a surface as in the 6-cell, but the 9-cell raises the rear of the m1330 up so it is supported by the battery itself. Some people like this raised feeling with the 9-cell, but other(myself included) dislike the aesthetic the 9-cell gives off.

Does anyone else think that the picture of the m1330 with 9-cell looks like it has the standard LCD? To me it looks thicker than the screens in the 6-cell picture, especially when you looks at the part closest to the hinge

Yeah its definately thicker with the standard LCD (as pictured above), not by much though. I can't imagine there'd be more than 1/10th of an inch difference in it.

that nine cell is really going to get in the way when placing it in my backpack for school. That's a real bummer, especially since I'll need the extra power for the road.

In the 9-cell image, the upper part of the back cover of the LCD seems to curve into the top, whereas the first picture's lcd cover is just straight up to the top without any curvature. And also there appears to be that white protrusion atop the 2nd picture above the webcam, whereas the first picture lcd does not have that.

yeah, it adds .1 in to the thickness and .3 pounds to the overall weight, so about 4.3 lbs with standard screen
