Hi everyone, I got my wife an m1330, and she has been playing the sims 2, but the machine is getting way too hot. I have noticed several threads where guys talk about opening up their machines and messing with the cooling, but I feel nowhere near comfortable enough to do that.

Have any of you tried using a cooling pad? If so, what do you use and where did you get it? I've looked at a few pads on coolerguys here http://www.coolerguys.com/noco.html. Any recommendations?

cooling pad would probably lower temps by 2-5degrees, not that much

its probably better to play games on an even surface with ventilation, or even underclock the CPU/GPU

the 9-cell battery raises the back of the notebook(where the fan is), it helps too....

I can't say what it's maxing out at right now, but she says it's been almost burning her leg. Have you tried the nc1000?

Therein lies the problem; if she's going to have it on her lap when gaming, then it's going to get very hot. As noted above, place it on an even, hard surface, and you should notice a difference.

The nc1000 dropped my peak GPU temp by 9 degrees.
