    Hi everyone, Happy New Year!!!

Last week, my XPS M1330 decided to give up on me. I bought the laptop more than a year ago and the warranty has expired.

I have been enjoying this laptop very much since I bought it. I works great and perfectly well. It never gives me any problem - hardware or software, and I took great care of it.

Last week, it decided to give up on me. I hadn't switch it on for a week, and when I switch it on last Saturday, it boots well until it got to the Windows Welcome Screen, the whole laptop went off! It's completely dead. No sign of life at all. I tried to change to another battery (I have an extra 9 cell batt), and it doesnt work. I tried to change to the spare power adapter, it doesnt work too. It's totally dead. There's no light, no response, nothing at all when I tried to turn it on. It's like totally dead. I'm confused, and don't know what to suspect. I have never experienced a totally dead computer before. No sign of life at all!

Have anyone experience this? Can anyone tell me what's the possible reason for this to happen?

Thanks in advances for any kind help and advices. Happy Near Year!!!

A mobo issue, probably.. Try removing the battey, unplugging the mains, and holding down the power button for about 60 seconds.. Then try turning it on..

If it is a mobo issue, all hope is not lost. Dell did an extra 1 yr extension on motherboard issues, see vertical lines thread for more info.

Could be the GPU. I believe they did extend the warranty on it.

Don't all high-tech have warranty for two years? Don't know about your country but it's in the law for most of the others.
