    Hello Al!,

I was totally in love with the Dell notebook XPS M1330 before I came on this website.
    My question is:

Is the XPS M1330 still a good notebook to choose or is it a heating machine?

If this notebook isn’t a good choose, what notebook will you guys recommend me for a good alternative for the XPS M1330? It has to be a small notebook (need to take it to school) with good performance offcource.

Hope you guys can help me out on this one.

    Thanks in advance Yawl!!! :)

Fill out the FAQ if you want other suggestions..

As for the 1330, it isn't a mini room heater, but it isn't exactly the coolest of them by a long shot...

Sorry for double posting, I didn't really knew where to put it hehe

    FaQs
    The budget is no problem.
    Size: 13" - 14" screen.
Country that I live in is the Netherlands.
I prefer the Dell XPS M1330 because of the size and looks.
I will use the notebook mainly for my study (software developing).
The reason that I want a small notebook is to take it easily with me to school.
I prefer Windows on it, it doesn’t matter if it’s XP or Vista.
The screen just needs to be compact it doesn’t matter if it is a standard or widescreen.

    -------------------------------------------------------

This is the spectifiction for the XPS M1330 that I wanted to proceed:

    [PROCESSOR]
    Intel® Core™2 Duo Processor T9300 (2,50 GHz, 800 MHz FSB, 6 MB L2-cache)

    [COLOR CHOISE]
Crimson Red XPS M1330 (PRODUCT) RED & camera with 0,3 megapixel for WLED-screen

    [LCD-SCREEN]
    13,3-inch UltraSharp™ WXGA (1.280 x 800) WLED-Screen (300 nit) with TrueLife™

    [MEMORY]
    4.096 MB 667 MHz Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM [2 x 2.048]

    [HARD DISK]
320 GB (5.400 rpm) SATA Hard disk

    [GRAPHIC CARD]
    128 MB nVidia® GeForce® 8400M GS

    [Combo or DVD+RW Drive]
    8x dvd+/-rw –station

    [BLUETOOTH]
    Dell™ TrueMobile 355 interne Bluetooth-module

    [WIRELESS CONNECTIVITY]
    Intel® Wireless-N-minicard

    -------------------------------------------------------

The only thing that is keeping me from proceeding this notebook is the heating problem (if it is that big of problem?).

If you are not going to be playing games, I suggest the Thinkpad X300, or the latitude XT. A tablet really comes in handy at school, esp for taking notes while standing.. However if you need performance too, then a tablet probably wouldn't satisfy your requirements.

The XT has integrated graphics and is not designed for gaming by any stretch of the imagination.
