Since in theory you only hear from people with broken laptops and not the ones that haven't broke, I thought I would start a XPS M1330 with the Nvidia GPU success story thread.

If you have a M1330 laptop WITH the Nvidia gpu and the gpu hasn't gone out on you, please post in this thread. Let us know how long you've owned and and how often you use it!

how about a story of how long a GPU could last? :p

11 months, gaming on and off (maybe once a week for an hour, and once a month a long gaming session >4 hours).... then died :)

well, i would more like it to be any that haven't died because there is basically already a thread for all the ones that died and how long it took.

I got mine in Oct '07 and it still has yet to die on me.

[Edit] Wow I must have jinxed myself because it just died today.

I think it only fair to include replacement motherboards as well since a huge amount of GPU dying issues came when the M1330 was first released usually failing 6 months after purchase. My replacement A04 motherboard installed in June 2008 is still running, so that puts it at 1 year. M1330 Originally purchased sept 2007. Needless to say I haven't been aggressive with this one on playing games. In fact, the settings have been on powersave mode ever since I received the motherboard replacement which I think is the reason it's lasted me as long by keeping temps down on both cpu and gpu.

I've had mine since the m1330 came out. I think I was like the third on NBR to receive one.
I've been gaming around four hours a week since I got it, and it hasn't died on me yet. I'm constantly using it since I'm a student

I bought my Dell XPS in Jan of 08 and I am still using it. I didn't have any GPU issue, but Dell took the time to send a tech out and replace it anyways. Ive been using this laptop almost 24/7 Never turn it off. It hasn't given me any problem since. The main reason why dell replaced the board was my battery was not charging so they replaced battery and the board together.

The 8400M-GS in our 2 year-old Vostro 1500 is still running strong! (Okay, I couldn't give a success story for the M1330/8400M-GS...mine died after two days). ;)

Mine actually lasted 20 months before it crapped out on me two days ago. I used it daily for 3-4 hours.

Okay, I take my post back. I have a feeling mine is about to die on me ><
Happened once yesterday, and just now. The screen would suddenly fill up with yellow artifacts and the computer would reboot on me, once with the artifacts still there. Is this a sign? :p

I've had mine for a year now. Copper modded a week after I got it, and its still fine. I'd like to know if there's any cases yet of a M1330 failing after a copper mod.
