I recently just received, my sister's XPS M1330 its equipped with the Intel 4965AGN card.
Problem is the speed stays at 65mpbs, well according to my router (D-link DIR-635)
I know the DIR-635 is a 2.4ghz router only, so the max speed i should get is 130mpbs.
I have a Dell Inspiron 1420 with the same card, and it gets the full 130mbps.
So then, I called dell.... eventually they ask me to open it up..
The factory screwed up the white wire, and bent the connector tip.
So dell then send a tech guy... guy came with a new card and mobo... new card i understand, new mobo i don't.
He sort-of fixed the connector, but i don't think its getting a good connection - but its better than before...
Windows says it goes all the way up to 104mpbs, but it its only been really stable at 78mpbs... the router says the xps is only at 65mpbs.
both computers (inspiron and xps) are in the same room with the router, and the inspirion is nice and stable at 130mpbs...
So then i call dell again, and the tech lady changed my router settings to WPA2 only... she thinks that fixed the problem... but the xps will not be stable at 130mpbs, it won't even reach 130, highest it reaches is 117 then quickly drops back down to 78mbps...
So then i opened up my inspiron, and saw that the wifi card - in the inspirion - has all 3 antennas, white, gray and black..
while the xps only has 2, black and white, and one is sort of messed up (white one)..
is there anyway i can get dell to replace the antenna wires? cause i feel like i'm not getting what i paid for.
