I have a M1330 with the dedicated graphics card, Nvidia 8400M GS.

I also plan to buy a 22" (1680x1050) monitor so that I can use the laptop for something like a video and do work on the larger monitor with all of the extra real estate. If I ever do plan on just watching a video, I do plan to send it to the larger monitor.

Will my laptop have any problems rendering these things?

    Connection will probably be VGA.

    Thanks

I'm typing this response on a 22" 1680x1050 monitor via an m1330 with an 8400m GS :). I can tell you there's no problems rendering videos, images, texts, or anything else, even with a manually downclocked GPU.

yeah, I do that too, same specs, a 22 inch 1680 by 1050 monitor, i'm planning on using it a bunch for school. the only problem with it is that there is no way to screw in the monitor cable, so its easy to knock out. no lag, its fine. games are alittle slow, but it can run some older ones at that res, videos will be no problem.

Aslong as you dont play 3D games on that resolution, all is fine.

    I'm using a 22" 1650x1050. No problems with the M1330.

As for games, as long as you are aware that you wont be playing Cyris at anywhere near that resolution.......

I'm at 16 80 x 1050, and 22" on an HP w2207h monitor. Beautiful design and great image!

Easily moves up/down, has great vibrant colors and easily allows you to switch settings. Also has HDMI connection, and provides you with an additional 2 USB ports. Movies look amazing on a 22"!

It also can be tilted vertical, if you want to view photos or browse on the internet with more usable screen real estate.

I've had NO issues using this monitor with my m1330 (the monitor DID go bad after only 35 days, but HP shipped me a replacement overnight, and paid for shipping both directions... not bad service!)
