I was about to purchase a X9000 for my M1330, just to see whether it works. I have seen a few that had it work, and a few that didn't, so what was the main difference in there specs, or was it just a BIOS version that made it work?

I realize it is not the best idea to put a CPU like that in a 13inch laptop, but I want to try it out.

Yes X9000 is the fastest processor for Santa Rosa platform. Might want to try without a BIOS update first, bad BIOS flash out of warranty = new motherboard.

It would work, but given M1330 was badly affected by the defective Nvidia chips, putting in a 44 watt dual core probably isn't a smart idea. Also the M1330 has such a poor cooling system, it would be throttled all the time..

I see that X9000 is currently listed at $200 shipped on Ebay. Unless you are getting it for near free, it would be a terrible waste of money and time.

Heard the heat thing all before, and TBH, i got the CPU, doesnt seem to be running hot though max was at 75*C under stress testing and benchmarks. I had the BIOS on A15 though already. It all worked good, and got an Engineering sample for a good price too. BTW, i have the one with integrated intel graphics.

I never had one of the daul core extreme CPUs, and seemed like a good price so i went for it.

And for those wondering it can be overclocked. Pretty decently if you ask me.

Heat isnt a real issue for me, im just running it for a few easy benchmarks TBH. My Bottle neck would have to be the PSU, you easily hit the limit.
