A little while ago I updated the video drivers in my XPS M1330. Now I am aware that the fan is constantly running where I don't believe it was happening before. The video drivers are the only thing I updated, I did not update the BIOS to version A12 which I have read does cause the fan to come on more often, I'm running version A10. So my question is this, can just updating the video driver cause the fan to come on more often?

Yes, the driver can change the tolerance of temperature for which the fans operate. Which drivers did you use? The official Nvidia ones or ones from laptopvideo2go?

Hi there i just updated to the new driver and that the same problem with the fan, i got driver through windows updater.

Anyway here is the fix going control panel then system then device manager then expand display adapters then right click on the graphics card and click properties then click on the driver tab then click roll back driver.

    This should fix the issue

    hope that helps
