Hi there, I've got my M1330 connected to my tv via HDMI. its works perfectly fine sound and all. i was just wondering if i can set it up so what shows up on the tv doesnt always have to be whats on the screen? As in, if windows media player is open can it show that on the screen and let me do other stuff.

i can do it with my desktop but cant seem to find out how on this.

    Thanks in advance,

    Travis

are you trying to extend your desktop? In that case, desktop -> personalize -> display setting -> use this display

Nah not extend it. I want it to be a clone, but when a video plays on windows media player it changes to full screen on the tv. Usually on my desktop i can be watching a movie on the tv and do anything i want on my other screen. i wanna do the same with my laptop

Do you mean that if you are watching a video in media player and you are playing it "windowed" so its not supposed to be full screen then on the TV it shows up in full screen but on the laptop monitor it stays "windowed"??

If so i'm afraid I don't remember how to fix it but it happened with an old desktop of mine and it is a problem with windows or the Nvidia software (by problem some settings needs to be changed i think). The desktop it happened on had a 6600GT so was an Nvidia card too..

Have you tried a different media player such as quick time to see if the same thing happens?

Easiest solution is just to extend it to be honest, that gives you the most space to work with anyway usually.

yeah thats sort of what i mean. on the tv it would be full screen even if windows media player was minimised or something else was open in front of it.

    Anyone else?

    (thanks for the responses guys)

Then you mean you wanna extend the monitor? like on the tv the movie is still running in full screen and on your laptop monitor you'r doing some word processing ... like that?

well... yeah... when you say extend i just think of both screens being one big screen. ya know?

like on my desktop it would be cloned untill i opened windows media player and played a movie, then all of a sudden it would take up the whole screen on its own.
