I was having problems with my Inspiron E1405. The LCD and the DVD+/-RW drive were the problems, and I got a brand new replacement system which actually didn't resolve the problem(look at my previous threads). The screen was the same brand (Samsung), and the DVD+/-RW drive was Philips which I've never seen somebody got in their Dell laptop. Anyway, I would say both are worse than the previous one.

So, I chatted with a Dell CSR today (surprisingly, it was the same guy that I chatted when I got the system replacement), and have him send me just parts of LCD panel and DVD+/-RW drive. I specifically asked him to send me the NEC DVD+/-RW drive, and he did. I also asked him if I could pick a brand of LCD panel, but he said he didn't have information. Yet, he said he could write a note that they send me a brand other than Samsung.

A few hours later, I checked my Dell account, and it shows me the following:

    UC823 Assembly,DVD+/-RW,8X Integrated Drive Electronics Nec Corporation,Inspiron

    GR174 Service Kit,Liquid Crystal Display,WXGA+14.1,640M/ M1410

Surprised? Yes, it looks like XPS M1410 is on the way. It also looks like it will have the screen of WXGA+ resolution.

I hope this LCD panel is much better than the Samsung panel.

What's up with the XPS M1410? That notebook does not exist yet. Dell just has the XPS M140, but are they really making an XPS m1410? Would that mean dedicated graphics?

Guys, I think the main reason he started this thread was to inform us that Dell MAY be releasing an XPSM1410. He is NOT receiving an M1410. All he's receiving is replacement parts for his E1405, of which one (the LCD) mentioned 'M1410' in its description.
