Does anyone have any comments on the quality of DVD playback on the XPS M1530?

Got mine yesterday. Overall quite pleased with the build quality. I have a CPT brand screen, 1280X800. No grain, plenty bright, horizontal viewing angles OK with websites or documents onscreen.

However, when playing DVDs there is really just the dead on viewing angle that is kind of acceptable. Any shift will result in some polarization in dark areas or bright washout in some area of the screen. It also seems as if there is more spill from the lcd backlight.

Is this what can be normally expected from most laptops playing DVDs?

I'm considering returning the product. I realize a higher resolution screen might help with the overall quality of the image but probably not with the viewing angle issue.

Could you post one or two picture just to see how bad it is?
