    Hi Everyone,

So, doing some research it seems that the Matrox dual or triple head2go is the pricey solution to running more than 2 external monitors. Are there other solutions to running 2 or more external monitors without shutting down the laptop screen?

I was thinking hdmi to one screen then 2 usb to dvi to the two other screens, but don't know if this will shut off the screen on my laptop.

Ideas? Previous solutions? Anyone have a setup like this?

    Thanks.

I don't have a solution, but am looking for the same answer. I run one external monitor on my 1530 via VGA right now, and I'm looking to add a third using the HDMI to DVI, but I'm not sure if I'll be able to use all 3 screens at once.

    Thanks!

$60 shipped. It's a "video card" that is driven off your USB 2.0 connection. It can do up to 1900x1200 or 2048x1152 (depending on the ratio of your monitor)

USB 2.0 to DVI-I Dual Link Video Adapter - Turn any USB Port into an Additional Video Output! ITV-101

I'm using it now on my macbook pro 17". It's driving my Dell U2410 monitor while the Macbook pro itself is driving a 30" via the DisplayPort :)

You can add several off these USB devices to get multiple monitors. note, it probably uses CPU power, so not recommended for gaming.

correction, it's even cheaper. It's $40 plus shipping (whatever that is!) They lowered the price since I originally bought it.
