Get the lowest possible ram and then buy your own and install it to save even more money.

I don't think the RAM price difference is really worth the hassle. First of all i'm pretty sure he could only get a minimum of 3 GB ram, which is a pattern among the discounted 1530 configurations. The 4 GB ram upgrade is $50. Dell is starting to get rid of their DDR2 stockpiles. They also made the RAM MUCH cheaper amongst the battery shortage.

Thats really amazing for the price, good job.

    very nice deal

but i'd also think about getting less ram.......

you might get 3gb--1gb+2gb, then you'd have to change out the 1gb to a 2gb module to make it 4gb and run in dual channel

But, I like to have all memory of the same make, esp for dual channel. And it's easy to change, esp. since you would already have to open it up.

And good memory is so cheap these days...........

Just like sszero said, buy as few memory as possible and get some separately. You'll save some of your money.
However, 1300$ seems a bit expensive to me but taking into account that you have an extended warranty and a LED screen, I assume this is a justified price after all.
