    Hi People,

I got a new 6-Cell battery from Dell for the M1530. I had a 9-cell before. All is well. Only issue is, with the 6-cell, if I place the laptop on the Zalman NC2000, the foot rests are not even. The back right foot rest, is lifted and there is this wobble.

Now, I did check if its fine on a normal, flat desk and the laptop sits perfectly fine, even on all four rubber foot rests.

BUT - with the 9-cell, the laptop sits well on the Zalman NC2000 (and also on a normal, flat table!!!)

I am confused as to why with the 6-cell it doesn't like to sit evenly on the Zalman???

    To summarize:

6-cell on a normal, flat table - all is well, no wobble.
6-cell on the Zalman NC2000 - Back right foot rest (of the laptop) is in the air, hence there is the wobble. * Why??

9-cell on a normal, flat table - all is well, no wobble.
9-cell on the Zalman NC2000 - all is well, no wobble.

By the way, the zalman itself is fine, sitting well on all four corners on the table or on any flat surface!!!

Any suggestions, people? Thanks in advance.

Sorry for bumping this up quiet late. But I still haven't been able to figure out why. Can someone shed some light on this issue, for me, Please? Thanks a lot.

This is a tough one. I've never seen a Zalman NC2000 and the 9-cell battery in person, so everything is conceptualized in my head right now. :p

I have found some pics to help me though:

If the laptop sits perfectly on a flat table with the 6-cell and 9-cell battery, then it must be the Zalman NC2000. If you look at the NC2000, you will notice there is a long flat rubber piece on the bottom and two small rubber pieces at the top to keep the notebook from sliding. Maybe the rubber foot pieces on the M1530 is partly touching those or not at all, causing uneven balance. Just my guess.

If it's easy to do, you can take the rubber pieces off the NC2000 since your M1530 has the rubber pieces already. See if that helps. I'm out of ideas. :)

    Ah thank you.

Yes, I did check them at the time of making my first post. But I am going to take a more closer look again this evening. Though the first time, I did make sure it was off the rubber strips on the Zalman and also tried with both the front laptop foot rests sitting on the front rubber strip of the Zalman.. Was seeing the wobble in every scenario. But I'll take a look again. Thanks once again and cheers :)

I noticed the 9-cell battery have 3 rubber foot rest on there; this is more stable than the 6-cell design. The 6-cell battery has one of the rubber foot rest on there (on the S-Video side). Maybe it is not seated straight. Try taking out the battery and check if it is well leveled. But then again, it sits perfectly on a flat table. This is so confusing!

Yes, I have no idea. I'll look again today and get back with what happened. May be I'll take some pictures too and post it here, so someone might be able to figure out the issue.

Don't have time to read the OP right now, but I have the Zalman NC 2000 and a 6 cell, it rests on it fine, no wobble

    Update:

Fine, I checked again and I have *absolutely* no idea for the reason behind the wobble :( Incredible. Everything is fine on a flat table and such - just the 6-cell and NC2000, is giving the wobble. Uffffffffff.. I'm tired of this. Will let this go for a while, since I'm mostly with the 9-cell these days, anyway. Will check on this later. Thanks for the suggestions people. If anyone has any other idea / anything to share, please do so. Thanks again. cheers.

This is a known issue with these machines, my M1530 had a wobble and dell repaired it no questions asked.
