    Hi Everyone,

Thought i would let you know how i have got on with overclocking my new Dell XPS M1530.

    First of all the specs

    T9300 @2.5 ghz
    3 Gb 667 Ram
    360Gb HD
    8600m GT 256mb DDR3

The 8600m GT is default clocked at:
    CORE : 475 mhz
    Shader : 950 mhz
    Memory : 702 mhz

    The Driver is the 714.31
My default 3DMARK is 4776
Which is pretty good, been play COD 4 atmax settings its stuttering slightly which i found annoying. So I went in seach of an answer and discovered the 8700m GT, which is basically the same core overclocked.

So using Rivatuner i have overclocked the 8600 to the 8700 speeds of:

    CORE : 625 Mhz
Shader : 1250 Mhz (Linked clock to core)
    Memory: 800 Mhz

The improvement is immense my 3DMARK 06 jumped to 5784, over a 1000 points!

Tested this with COD4 and the difference is amazing real improvements in gameplay.
Temps have not suffered, after a couple of hours gaming the gpu temp never went past a max of 76C.

Im going to try the Crysis demo next, i will keep you posted.

Try undervolting your CPU (if you haven't already). The loss of heat there should also help keep the overall temp a bit cooler.

    Edit: Forgot to mention...looking good.

Nice job! Maybe you'll be one of the first to try the 8600M GT to 8700M GT BIOS flash?

I might drop the OC a little bit, until you hit around 75 under full load. That's just me though, I don't want to push the card too hard and risk burning anything.

Dropped the card back to core 550 shader 1100 mem 750. Still performing max temp at about 70. Much better.
