Okay - so I have the 3 prong power cord for my a/c adapter but it is like maybe 5 feet long! Where can I buy a longer PC to a/c brick cord?

I would just buy a standard extension cable.

I don't want to have to carry an extension cord with me everywhere I go. I travel alot, and my previous laptop a/c adapters have about 2-3 feet longer cords!

yea ive noticed the dell cord being shorter than my last laptop as well, but i think the person means a longer cord going from the brick to the wall, not an actual extension cord youd use for any electric device.

That sucks. They should be more descriptive in there er descriptions. I pulled out one of my other Dell Laptop AC adapters and the one for my m1530 is different. The connectors are not in line like the other ones. Maybe if you call you can get lucky and find someone that can actually find one for you. They list a bunch of 6 foot power cords on their site. All of the pictures have the connectors in line though. They do sell some 90 watt AC adapters that come with 6 foot power cords if you wanted a second AC adapter anyway.
