I want to open my M1530 to check out my fan cause I get a 5 second rattle on startup as if it's clipping something. This only happens when the laptops been off for like 5 hours or so (seems that it's something to do with temperature...ie only happens from literally a 'cold boot'). Turning it off now and turning it back on won't cause a rattle since the laptops already warmed up. Just wondering, to check out the fan, it's only removing a plastic cover on the bottom top right corner....right? Will this void the warranty?

Had it for a month now and it only started the rattle a few days after I reformatted (think this is unrelated though).

Isn't the clipping sound the optical drive?

Put a CD in it to stop it.

No I've been dealing with this for like a week now and have pinpointed the problem. Sorry if I sound like an a$$ but I'm not a stupid noob would think it's the DVD drive....it's not something simple like that. The sound comes from the left.

Check this video I took and you'll hear the rattle. I haven't come across others who have encountered the same problem.
