Congrats on your new laptop :)

Great pictures! And can't wait for that review! Finally a decent 1530 full review lol!

    1280x800 isn't so bad, right? xD;

Since being modeled after the m1330, how could it NOT look fabulous.....

.....having said that however, it's just too big for my personal preference and I don't think I would be happy with it.

    Congrats on your purchase!

I think it is the perfect size (for me, at least). Going from a 17" to 13.3" was a little drastic - loved the portability, but didn't enjoy the limited screen size.

My review is done- just waiting for Andrew or whoever to put it into HTML and post it :)

JerryJ's review has now been posted at:
    http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=196750

In his pre-production unit, he found a noise problem with the Hitachi 260 GB 5400 rpm drive that could be a dealbreaker for me (since a hard drive is rarely idle for long, unlike an optical drive).

Did you find a noise problem? It would be good if you could address that in your review.

How does the remote control feel?
I mean, do the buttons feel cheap or do they feel sturdy?

It is definitely not the greatest feeling remote, but it is made from plastic and it is free so you can't be too picky....

I think the remote is the same as comes with the M1330 or with the Inspiron's.. standard dell expresscard remote.

That's a good thing! I am really impressed by the overall build quality (I know I've said it before, but it has exceeded my expectations).

That way the laptop won't open accidentally. I love tight hinges :)

I think the box weighs 4kg when I tracked my package online. As for sleey0's review, yes we are waiting for it. The weekend will be finished and still no sign of it? Tsktsk. Can't wait for it!!

Yeah, I don't know what is going on with my review, but if they do not post it I will try and post it myself. I didn't want to do that because NBR already paid me for the review.....

Anyway, to answer Hypno, the box is the same size as the 1330's. I thought Dell made a mistake and sent me a 1330 when I saw DHL with the box! Shipping weight was 16lbs....

May i also ask how large is 1330's box :p ?

GURU_vaibhav yes you can use Linux on it. You should be able to get the drivers you need from the manufactors.

Awesome pics from a late comer to the thread! I may purchase one of these when the higher resolution screen (I mean WSXGA+) becomes available.
