    Hi

Enjoying the new XPS apart from the Vista bit :(

I have the laptop connected via HDMi to my Dell 2408WFP monitor.

My computer speakers are connected to the monitor rather than directly to the laptop.

The sound works fine but every now and again there is a lot of hisshing and static noise.

I also hear this when I start the laptop up?

    Any ideas would be great!

    Thanks
    Stormies

Sounds like a grounding problem, but really I'm just guessing.

I, too, am getting this. It is not a grounding problem, but the fault of the monitor not resynchronizing the audio portion of the HDMI after it is awakened out of its powersave state, resulting in the hissing garbage coming out of the speakers.
