    XPS M1530 LCD Screen Upgrade

    Hi, kinda new here.

    I received my DELL XPS M1530 Last week. When i ordered my dell i made a dumb mistake and didn't select the higher resolution screens. Hence, at the moment my maximum IS 1280X800. I would really like to upgrade to a screen which supports a higher resolution as i use it for Gaming, GFX, editing as well watching movies. Does anyone have any recommendations of an LCD screen which is compatible with XPS M1530?

    1440x900 or anything better would be great.

    I heard good things about the Lp154We2(Tl)(B2) 15.4" Wsxga+ Lcd, but i can seem to find it anywhere within the UK or europe. The screens
    i keep on bumping into is the LP154WE2 (TL)(A1) WSXGA. Is it any good.

    I'm really a noob when it comes to lcd screens.

    Almost identical setup to mine lol. I got the 1440 x 900 screen and it was the best upgrade to the spec I made imo.

    If you just got it last week try and send it back, say you aren't happy with the screen and want the higher res. You would need to return the laptop to them, and start the order process again though.

    It will cost you a lot more to do it yourself though!

    Ended up getting an LP154WE2 WSXGA+ 1680X1050 off ebay. It arrived Today and i just installed it :D

    This screen is nice!! It's even less reflective than the dell 1280x800 :rolleyes:

    Just make sure to put the original one back on if you need service in the future...

    Did you get an inverter with that replacement LCD panel or use the one that came with your laptop?

    I'll ask the same question as I also wanto upgrade from WXGA to WSGA+.
    Do you need to buy the inverter too? Did you install the new screen yourself? Is it complicated? Do you need drivers?
