I was tinkering with RM Clock yesterday and reduced my voltage (11x 1.175) to 1.050 which shaved about 10C off of my overall Core processor temperature. I was so excited. I had just finished wiping off the old thermal compound and applying some fresh IC Diamond which alone was a huge success. ...and this morning when I went to fire up my laptop and the LCD failz. What was really funny was that I was able to log into my Administrator account with no video. LOL

I now regret undervolting and reapplying the thermal paste because coincidentally this happens the next day and the warranty just expired in April.

Cheapest LCD I found online was about $109 plus shipping. :)

Maybe I'll just opt for a monitor and try and run this lappy in a docking station. Does anyone know if you can or if such a docking system exists? I have seen them for the Latitude business laptops but I don't know if that's compatible with my laptop.

I was hoping the GPU would fry so I can get it replaced..

oh no, I think I am misunderstood, I didn't undervolt it to fry the GPU. I was undervolting to reduce CPU temperatures. I think I went to low on the voltage for the power settings and the LCD may not be getting enough voltage to it to power up. It's a hunch but I already reset the settings and reboot and the LCD is still dead so I must have damaged it by underpowering it? idk...
