    Hey guys,
I'm new to the forum, but I know my way around a computer more than the average joe, so I am not a complete loss.
I got my XPS 1530 about a month ago, and have been searching for some kind of patch which would allow the Dell MediaDirect controls (Play/pause, stop, fast forward, etc) to control iTunes while it is not in focus (minimized). I use iTunes for basically everything, and it's starting to become a little bit of a nuisance. I searched this forum for something to help me, but the only thing i found was something which changed the MediaDirect button itself, to open iTunes (which I have tried, but it seems to only open sometimes...). Any help would be greatly appreciated.

those mediadirect controls arent specifically for mediadirect.. they should work for iTunes and any other application that looks for play/stop/ff/back...

That's what I thought too. But if iTunes isn't in focus, it won't control anything but the sound... iTunes is my default player

Take a look at this thread. MediaDirect is just an application. The keys are typically described as 'Dell Media Keys' - how I found the thread.

I had already found that thread. It's from 2006, and it isn't Vista compatible.
