Just wanted to get an idea of how users are finding the mouse responiveness. I have tried fine tuning settings for both touchpad and external mouse. There is an initial slugishness for the mouse to move that is really annoying.
I am running Vista Ultimate.

I'm pretty unhappy with it. I use a Dell Latitude at work and it's mouse pad is far better.
-
Wait...The mouse is sluggish even using an external mouse?
-
Not quite as bad but still there is a lack of response at times.
-
i could see a decent improvement once I fine tuned the settings of touchpad.
Phew... now atleast one problem is off the list. -
I've just recently used a M1530 that seemed to have a very sluggish trackpad. But from all the reviews, I dont see other complaints. Heres to hoping mine doesnt have the same problem
-
Its rubbish
It has erratic movement everytime you close the lid.
Its a common problem , theres another thread about it.
I hae dell coming to replace the touchpad next week but i dont expect it to make any diff
I think there all as bad -

yeah i think your right, i was actually thinking that
You know if anyone has actually had a touchpad that doesnt do this crap ?
Or are all 1530s like this ?
It dont bother me but the misses moans like hell , saying a brand new state of the art laptop should have a better touchpad than a 3 year old Inspiron 6000 -
Solution to mouse response found I think. There's a setting called minimum processor state under advanced power settings. Both Battery and plugged in were set to 5%. I incresed the setting to 25% and now the response is what I woul expect as normal.
I am curious now to better understand what the minimum processor state actually does? -
Have you adjusted the scroll areas on the touchpad? I've got mine set for the narrowest area. When it's too wide, it can make it seem like the touchpad is not responsive if you're too close to the edge of the pad when initiating a mouse movement.
