My brothers girlfriends xps m1530 wont charge the battery. We went ahead and replaced the battery with a new dell battery and still a no go. I desoldered the old ac port on the power board and resoldered a new one, no dice. I used my alienware m11x power adapter 90w and still nothing. In windows it shows the battery and power works, but the battery wont charge.

I'm trying to revert to the A09 bios as some people have mentioned this fixes the problem.

I'm booting off a usb flash drive with the A09 rom file and I get into the flash bios update program (C:\1530_a09 /forceit). It says, "This bios does not support the level of hardware in this system. Rom update not performed.

I also tried the windows installer, and couldn't do it that way either.

I was able to reinstall bios A12, so does dell not allow you to revert back to an older bios for this model, or is it because of the T6600 CPU that she has.

I'm at a loss now and have been trying to figure this out for the last 5 hours. I'm going to get some sleep and attack this again tomorrow.
