I've had my XPS M1530 for a couple of years now and in recent months it keeps running Chkdsk when I boot up. Not always, but a lot more than usual. Is this a sign that my HDD might be on the way out?

often chkdsk will run during bootup windows detect that there is some problem with your disk volumes during bootup. Usually happens if windows didnt shutdown properly and when the dirty bit is set in one of your disk volumes . See this:
http://www.microsoft.com/resources/...all/proddocs/en-us/fsutil_dirty.mspx?mfr=true
Its also possible that your disk might be failing
XPS M1530 Regularly boots into Chkdsk
