Mine is LED and love it. I believe I paid less than $200 for the upgrade.

It all depends on what you want. I'll give you the arguments for each and hope that helps :)

    1. people will say why get anything above the 1280x800 LCD as you could just hook up to another monitor etc if you wanted a better resolution.
*con- not as bright, less screen real estate

    2. High Resolution is great for movies, etc. Also the 1440x900 gives good real estate but still keeps the text a readable size.
    *con- not as bright

    3. High Resolution is great for movies, etc. LED is INCREDIBLE and the screen's white's and colors stand out dramatically more-so then the normal LCD option. LED also helps with battery life and the screen longevity.
*con- not "perfect" ratio for 1080 hd movies (1080 movies)

    4. Best real estate possible, great resolution for HD movies at 1080.
*con- no LED, to small to read text sometimes, thus not as bright and takes up more battery.

SOOOO. In my opinion go option 3- the LED 1440x900. screen as it gives the best of both worlds (I have it and it simply blows all other screens i've seen out of the water- even Macbook pros). The 1920x1200 is just just small of text and not worth it, plus it isn't as bright.

Hope it helps. pm if you have any questions about LED

Does the LED delay the ship date? I need it before September. Is there any way to quicken the delivery or is it pretty much get your estimated ship date and cross your fingers?

Also if you called them with that deal you could downgrade the hard drive (dont need 7200 rpm) and get one of the screens I recommended.....also upgrade to the intel next-gen wireless

Got the 1920x 1200 and no text isn't too small. You can change the size if you think it is. The LED does get better battery life and is supposed to be brighter. Honestly the 1920x1200 is very bright, enough for outdoor use during the summer.

its really preferance- I have a friend who has the 1900x1200 and I have the LED 1440x900. The brightness is very apparant as well as some color vividness. Yet the resolution of a 1900x1200 is very good.

I'd say go with technology and the LED (since it is the future).

You should get it before september if you order soon- also they are VERY conservative with their ship dates. Mine came in a good 3 weeks earlier then they told me it would.

I have the 1920x1200, cost me an extra £60, definatly worth it.

The 1280x800 is pretty poor in my opinion, my 3 year old D810 came with higher res than that as standard! The increase to 1440x900 isn't much of an increase and would have cost me £30. LED wasn't an option when I got my M1530.

I hear people say that the 1920x1200 is hard to read text on. I have asked a few of my friends and the only ones who said it was a bit too small were the ones who didn't where glasses/contacts! Maybe the people who think it is too small should goto an optician! Just my thoughts and findings!

Both my M1330 and M1530 have LEDs - Great brightness and color - I use 2 laptops side by side at work - a Toshiba with LCD and the M1530 - no comparison the LED looks 200% better.
    GO with LED.

I would get the LED. I would also hook it up to an external monitor for desktop usage.

You'll really enjoy it- i mean if you really want a "true HD" experience just use your HDMI to an hd tv or find a good size monitor :)
