I had a question regarding screen replacement... I have had my system for about 4-5 months (and have a 4year warranty+accidental damage coverage) and have noticed some extra light bleeding and graininess. My resolution is 1280x800. Would it be possible to have the replacement as 1440x900 if I paid a bit extra since I don't want to have to deal with this again?
The Dell Rep I spoke with said that this is impossible and you MUST replace it with the EXACT same resolution screen, even if you are willing to pay the difference. He said my only option would be to buy a new screen at full price and have this broken one sitting around doing nothing (wtf)?. I think this is kind of ridiculous seeing as how I got the 4 year/accidental coverage.
Any help would be appreciated!

Your warranty is for your laptop in its current configuration. Dell will replace defective parts in it but they have no obligation to upgrade anything.
So they will replace your screen with another one of the same resolution. -
Dell can't put in a better part unless they can't supply your current one. Even if you pay for it.

I hear what your saying, but IMO the 4 year warranty doesn't entitle you to 4 years of upgrading your system. I have to agree with Dell on this one.
...And FWIW, I believe the 1440x900 screens had more problems than the 1280x800.
