XPS M1530 System Exchange. Ugh.

Hi All,

So I've been granted a system exchange after 3 'sploded motherboards in 5 short weeks. Heat sink, fan, ram sticks where also swapped out.

Anyway, does this look like a fair exchange? Should I be concerned with the "ATI Mobility RADEON HD 3670 - 512MB" portion? It seems people have been fairly unhappy with that component.

Any help is appreciated.

I don't think that there is much that you can do, as the 3670 is slightly better than the 8600 GT Graphics@Notebookcheck you could always try your luck, you never know

damm i dont like your upgrade, the 1640 there building you is prob defective.. i have a xps 1530 and it preforms a lot netter than my 1640 which im getting replaced. you need to demand a better replacment system.

 

I spoke to support this morning and they offered me a dell studio instead of the proposed system. I didn't accept it.

I'm not trying to pull one over on them and make out like a bandit; I just want a system that works decently well and does what I need it to do. I think I'd rather just keep my existing system instead of trading known problems for unknown problems. Actually, I'd been overall pretty happy with my 1530 until the motherboards went TU.

 

The system they offered you is a refurb as they don't make the 1640 anymore. Id push for a 1645 or 1647
