Got a call from my brother that his M1530 isn't working. Turned it on and it showed nothing on the screen, but when I looked closer I could see something. Turned on the flashlight on my phone and I could see everything on the screen, it all boots up fine, but as I said very very dark. Is this a GPU problem? LCD? Any fixes for this?

    EDIT:
Did a test and got this error - Error Code 0322
    Msg: Error Code 2000-0322
Msg: LCD Inveter - Unable to modify brightness

Is it the inverter that needs to be replaced or the backlight? How do I know?

It's basically impossible to tell if it's an inverter or backlight issue. In my experience if the screen had a reddish tint prior to complete failure, it's more likely the backlight, but otherwise it could be either. Try swapping the inverter first as it's way easier to replace and a cheap part as well.
