    Hello,

I'm installing Win-7 x64 on a new HD on my Dell XPS M1530 and was wondering about how to verify that Intel chipset program -
    infinst_autol.exe - is installed correctly.

Can I should use -a to extract all files in a folder on C:\ and then go to the Control Panel and update driver from there (something similar to what I did when I downgraded this machine from Vista to XP). If so, does someone have the exact instructions on which item to select in Device manager and update the driver?

    Thanks for your assistance.

Download the driver package, run the setup executable, and if it completes, you're good to go. I don't understand why you are trying to mess with individual components in Device Manager...

I might have to disagree on that.

I was following UDIs pack when I installed XP on my box. However there were issues relating to chipset installation, exe would run but for some reason driver never got installed and there was another post that had the suggestion of unpacking the files and then manually updating driver, which seemed to work fine.
