Does anyone know which is the latest driver (working ) for 8600 GT. I'd really like to update. I tried 181.20 and 22. In unmodified ini "setup could not find any compatible hardware". In modified ini dll files were missing.

And also another thing. All the time when i play games the laptop just shutsdown like it didnt had a power but its on AC. when it boots no errors shows. Maybe i'll try the 179.28 to see. In Vista this never happened !!!

I HATE HIGH PITCHING NOISE FROM THe BATTERY Anyone know how to fix it ??

Make sure download the ini file for the correct driver version. I’ve used laptopvideo2go drivers on both _Windows XP and _Vista in the past without any problems. If you are sure of the ini file, then try a different version of the driver.

Then you are out of luck my friend. 185.20 is not even supposed to support the M1530, the last M1530 drivers are 174.* from dell. the ones on nvidia site are officially supported (don't need to hack/edit anything). I have used the modded inf drivers, and have found temps to not be nearly as stable. You asked for a recommendation, and you got one. Can't get it to work, go to laptop video 2 go, for all your driver hacking needs.

Nope, event log search, see if it shows an error there. Have you tried the drivers I recommended (the same set are the newest for vista too, unless you go with 176 from dell). Otherwise, I would say stress test the components to see how it fails.

I'am back in Vista so whats the best driver. Now I have a some noise coming out from battery (high pitch- very annoying), harddrive - i can hear it spinning not just reading and writing, and already got one BSOD (fixed). Now downloading SP1.

Well it was good time with xp but on battery power.... VISTA RULEZ !!!
Never XP again on this high pitchting battery. Does anyone know how to fix it ? Will dell replace it ,I'am under warranty ?!?!?!
