    XPS M1530 not charging. HELP

    Hi everybody, i have a M1530 and it says "plugged in/not charging". What's wrong and how can i fix it?

    No, the battery is dead and when you hover over the battery symbol, it says plugged in not charging.

    Hmmm... Just a shot in the dark - have you, by any chance, left the laptop plugged in for a few days straight?

    I had the exact same problem. After unsuccessfully trying a new A/C adapter sent by dell, I have sent the laptop to the repair depot. They are saying that it's probably a bad motherboard. My harddisk was acting up strange too...about 80% of the time, the system refused to detect my harddisk - restarting several times was the workaround. Hopefully this harddisk issue will be gone too..

    Did you push the button on the battery itself to see the health (not the charge) of the battery? Maybe the battery itself is just dead.

    Sometimes its because the wiring on the inside of the part that connects to the power brick that plugs into your laptop is severed since you can twist it around a lot. If thats not the case, its most likely the mobo.
