I have an M1530 running Windows 7 64bit. I have the display set to turn off after 10 minutes. When the display turns off I can still see a band of blue light running along the bottom of the display and at night it appears as if the entire display still has a glow to it. I don't remember this happening when I was running Vista on it.

    Any ideas? Is this normal?

ok what i have found is the screen goes black then a few minutes later it lights back up. This happens when the fingerprint login kicks in, when you touch a key it brings you to the login screen that shows the fingerprint icon. Any ideas on how to prevent this, i'm using windows 7 built in biometrics

I have an XPS m1530 as well, but mine does not do this. However I am using the Windows 7 RC x64, not the retail version. I remember a few weeks ago there was an update for the biometric scanner via Windows Update, that's what I used. Maybe you have an app open that is preventing the screen from powering off? Check your screensaver perhaps?

I'm not using a screensaver, like I said it goes completely black then lights up again a few minutes later when the thumbprint reader activates waiting for someone to log in.
