My children have managed to prise the aluminium wrist rest / fascia off from around the keyboad of my XPS M1530. It was clearly glued down before. What would be the best type of glue to stick it back down with? If you mention brand names, it would help if they are available in the UK.

    thanks
    Mark

can you please upload a picture? as i believe you're referring to the palm rest, if that is the case, then you better just buy a new one, because that's suppose to be bolted onto the chassis of the laptop. I'm very much unsure because last I checked mine's wasn't glued down (m1330, same exact aluminum body). it was bolted down

Yikes! I had no idea there was plastic underneath, you live and learn I guess.

What I would do is take apart the bezel (the plastic part that's still on the laptop) and lay it on a table, clean both sides that you're going ot make contact with alcohol, clean it really good, TAPE up the trackpad (as i'm sure this is connected to it) along with anything else that u dont want the glue to overrun over it mistakenly, and glue it together with a 5-minute epoxy that you can get from your local Home Depot/Auto-parts store. Epoxy's sort of like a universal glue. It can help you glue the aluminum to the plastic. At the same time it shouldn't melt the plastic either (from what i've read so far, i've done this on the door sill of a car because the black piece kept coming off... it's been a year and it's been rock solid). Good luck!
