    Hello everyone,

Just wanted to throw out an issue I'm having with my Dell XPS M1530, just received yesterday.

    The symptoms are as follow:
    - Periodic blue error screen (BSOD) which forces a reboot of the machine. Error shows something like "Stop: 0x00008086". After the forced reboot, I receive a prompt saying that the system has recovered from an error, and lists "Iastor.sys" as the culprit. The "fix" recommended points me to an Intel driver download page for Intel Matrix Storage Manager, however after installing the latest version of this, the problem persists.

    - Periodic system "hanging" - when attempting to open or close something, or other general use functions like clicking a link in a browser, that particular program will become nonresponsive for a few seconds up to a minute+, and then it will proceed like normal. After reading testimonies from people with the same blue screen error, I'm convinced that this behavior is part of the same issue.

Upon researching this behavior and the error, it is apparently a driver issue regarding the "Iastor.sys", however I cannot seem to remedy it.

Anyone encounter this or have any suggestions? I may have to request a return but I'd rather not do that if this is a driver/software issue that I can take care of.

    Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the suggestions. I ran the scan and everything looks fine there.

I may indeed do a fresh Vista install. Some I have read said they tried this and it didn't help this particular issue but I'll probably try it myself if I find no other solution.

I have the exact problem with my toshiba satellite x200 after installing vista: "This problem was caused by Intel Turbo Memory Driver (iaStor.sys), which was created by Intel Corporation."

Bsods and system hangs. Did you find any remedy?

Disable or take the turbo memory out. With your current specs its barely beneficial.
