Just got my XPS M1530 and am starting to unpack it. Noticed that there two remotes are included in the box... Is this normal?
Perhaps I should check and see if they forgot to include something else...
-
No its nots normal...just tuck one away is all.
-
I got two... and I've heard of others getting two.
While it is probably not required... it sure seems like a trend. -
Yeah, I also got two remotes on my second 1530. The first time around I only got one.
-
I also got two for some reason....
never hurts to have a backup I guess -
As an aside on the topic: does anyone elses protrude when stowed?
Mine sticks out about 1m when parked? not fussy in the slightest, just thought it weird. -
Illegal Operation Notebook Evangelist
Guess I will have to check on that.
-
I get 2 every time I get a replacement. Its supposed to stick out a little. I will see if my third will have 2 again also.
-
I got 2. Mine sticks out a bit when the machine gets excited.
-
I got two also
-
Thanks for all of the answers...
I wonder if Dell routinely giving two remotes means:
1) they break easily;
2) they get lost easily;
3) since they stick out slightly, they get hit often;
4) all of the above -
If the M133O is any indication, the remote is supposed to stick out a bit. It has no impact AFAIK putting into a case, and makes it easier to know where to push in, to release it.
-
sorry to break the chain, but I got one.
-
-
only 1 for me too, but i got 2 sets of headphones!
-
A couple weeks ago, didn't a guy on here post that he did not get a remote (among other things?) You got his remote
.
-
Got 2 , So I guess it's normal to get 2 ,, and not normal otherwise.
-
I got 2 remotes as well. I heard of people getting 2 pairs of headphones but was I only got 1 pair. I probably would rather have had 2 sets of headphones than 2 remotes, but who's to complain when you're getting extras anyways.
-
I got 2!!!
-
Only one with mine, same for its replacement. Would have been handy to have a spare. I did get 2 pairs of ear buds both times though.
-
Only One here...
My theory... People receive a laptop, put the remote in, send the computer back to dell because the screen sucks or something... they just pack it and send it out again with all the manuals, cables, etc... voila! Two remotes...
We are all being feed returned computers... -
I got 1 remote but 2 earphones
-
And here i thought it was just me.
1 remote, 2 headphones.
Pitty they are in a completly different country to me at the moment -

Wait is it seriously selling for 257 dollars?
I got two remotes and two headphones also. Except, I gave one pair of headphones to my sister.Last edited by a moderator: May 8, 2015 -
For some reason I have two remotes but I would have preferred to have two sets of headphones. I would probably end up sticking them up my nose to see if I could listen to AND smell the music... Olfactory goodness.

I can't see a reason for them providing two remotes. But two pairs of headphones for two headphone ports? The logic is unassailable.

There's an option of selecting a remote ($20) when ordering xps1530. Could this be the reason? Dell comes with the remote and additionally we select that option, therefore 2 remotes?
-
Well this is weird, I got 2 notebooks and no remote. what the heck am I supposed to do with an extra notebook? I hope I can find some one with an extra remote to trade with so I can get a remote.
-
also when i put in a sd card, the card protrudes quite abit too so i cant keep a sd card in mine, premium notebook model my ass!
i didnt get two remotes which isn't a biggie as i never use the remote but i got two sets of headphones -
I got one... Mind you I got a M1330 not an m1530..
