    Hello;

    After reading http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=153941, I've decided to install XP on my M1530, but i'm unsure on what to do about step 1:

    "Step 1... You need a version of Windows XP SP2 with built-in SATA drivers... I personally used LastXP (feel free to go find this on a torrent site somewhere, you have the option to install one of your own valid XP keys as part of its setup). (The other way is to put SATA drivers on a USB stick and hit F6 during initial Windows setup...)."

    Where can I find the SATA drivers for my HDD? And when I have them, how can I load these from a USB drive during the XP installation?

    Maybe it would just be easier to just download a version of XP with integrated SATA drivers like Step 1 says, but after looking around in torrent sites I can't find anything too convincing. Any tips?

    And one last thing; does it have to be XP SP2? or can it be SP3?

    Thanks for your time!

    go to the intel site and d/l the "Intel® Matrix Storage Manager" for your chipset.

    you can easily install the sata drivers into xp using nlite and integrating them....

    sp3 is fine!!

    I used this guide when installing XP on my m1530 and everything runs smoothly. You need to donwload the matrix controller, copy the XP installation disk and use nLite to put the matrix controller on the XP installation disk folders then burn it to CD/DVD. Use this guide: http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=212981
