I have Windows 7 on a DVD+R or is it DVD-R??? whatever well i i installed windows 7 fine on my Dell Dimension E310 Desktop fine. but when i put it in my brand new XPS M1530, i fit the boot menu. and i select CD/DVD option...and it does nothing, it only boots from the HDD.
    Any Help?
    Slot Loaded DVD+/-RW (DVD/CD read/write)

    RESOLVED I needed to boot from a DVD-R not from a DVD+R

Does it detect it in windows? It might not be a bootable disc.

Your drive might not like booting to + or - DVD's so try burning it on the opposite format. This is my guess, other m1530 users might wanna chime in first incase your booting wrong or something...

Oh you got RW's *sigh* Thats why

You have to make it bootable IIRC. There was a thread discussing this earlier, try look for it.

opps my bad they are DVD-R and DVD+R

EDITok so i told it to boot from CD, then it actually said "hit any key to boot from CD"
So i did... the first time i booted Windows LOL

So i did it again and it is now booting from CD.

    Thanks flipfire
