    Hi to all
I've just bought a XPS M1530 Laptop (so excited!). But I have some problem connecting to wireless networks.
My roommates can find and connect to our wireless network, while my machine cannot even find one!! It can't even create wireless networks (ad hoc)
I looked up Dell support, it said to uninstall network driver and restart windows (vista HP, SP1). I did that, after reboot, it could find the available network, but after another reboot, it again didn't work.

I'm pretty sure that nothing is wrong with hardware (since it could find once or twice). But I don know what to do.
Any help or comment is really appreciated.

    System configuration:

    Core 2 dua 2.5GHz
    Ram: 4GB
    Graphic :Geforce 8600gt 256mb
    Hard: 320GB
    Wireless: Dell Wireless
OS: Vista Home Premium Service Pack 1

Sounds like a driver issue.. Try installing the driver from intel's site.. (assuming you have the intel card, not the dell one...)

But windows itself detects it as Dell Network adapter, Not an Intel one. Is windows wrong?

If it's the dell adapter, then you are stuck with the dell drivers.. try using an older version of the driver..

It is your 4 Ghz of RAM that is interfering with the wireless network signals. You'll need to switch to a different frequency, perhaps 3.5 Ghz, or, if you're feeling adventurous, you can try installing the new 6.0 Ghz RAM.

    Just kidding.

If the drivers continue not working, then you might have to take the laptop apart, see whether someone forgot to hook up your wireless antennas.

The driver sure is the latest version, as windows says.
My ram is not 4Ghz, my bad, it is 4GB, frequency should be around 667MHz.
As I mentioned earlier, my wireless somethinmes finds the networks in range, But it can't connect, and after restart, it can't find anything, so I don't think it's because of antenna or so.
I'll be looking for older drivers.

Before saying it as Hardware issue / Calling Dell , I would suggest you to use a Live CD/DVD to check if WiFi Card is working .....

I would Suggest Knoppix Live CD/DVD as its the easiest

Guys, I got my problem solved!! I downloaded a bunch of old drivers, and one of them did work!

As sesshomaru said before, the problem is with the dell's new drivers.
I'm trying to upload this driver, but no success so far.

If anyone has such problem, send me an E-mail, I'll send you that driver.

    Cheers!!

I had this problem (with the Dell 1505 card) and wound up dropping $$ for a new router that ran on 5ghz...which works. Would you mind naming the driver that you used?
