After a little research, I discovered that the Dell D/Dock is compatible with the M1710, but does anyone know if the D/Port would also work? I really don't think I need the bulk of the D/DOCK or a PCI slot.

    Thanks.

lancorp -- According to a dell premier site I accessed earlier tonight, it shows the D/Port is also compatible with the M1710 -- options are as follows:

    Port Replicator

    D/Port Advanced Port Replicator [ Add $64.00 ]
    D/Dock, Expansion Station [ Add $223.20 ]
    D-Family Monitor Stand [ Add $39.20 ]

Just to be sure, call up sales and see what they have to say.
