I have a XPS M1710 that dell has decided to exchange because they are not quite sure what is wrong with it, I have 3 year complete care warranty does that warranty transfer to the new computer? I got this one in Nov. 2006 so they said it would likely be a refurbished one that has the same or better specs, if the notebook had any defects on the case or plastics will Dell replace them under warranty?

The warranty should carry over, but I would check to make sure. There's no reason why your existing warranty wouldn't carry over to the new computer.

Yes, the warranty will carry over (from my experience). If you are not satisfied with the replacement, then you can contact Dell and they will be glad to assist you. You will most likely receive a new one.

That's what I thought that the warranty should carry over to the new one, I haven't had any experience on dealing with them on a refurbished replacement so hopefully the system will be in good condition

What was wrong with the laptop? What was happening to the laptop? I have a Dell XPS M170 and it is over heating to the point of burning me when I touch it and Dell just replaced the heat sink and fan but it is still hot.

The screen was going dark in the lower left and right corners of the screen, they sent a tech to replace the screen but the problem didn't go away so they decided to replace the notebook and sent me a XPS M1730 notebook. I had complete care coverage so I am not sure if that made a difference, what kind of warranty do you have?

Dell is sending me an exchanged laptop. I have a XPS M170. Does anyone know if they will send another M170 or do they not make them anymore? My sister received an exchanged laptop. Inspiron 700m to a XPS m1330.

Dell is sending a XPS M1730. They are sending it with WIndows Vista Ultimate with a XP bonus disc which means XP will be installed on the system but a Vista disc will be included in the package. Did they send your M1730 fully loaded?
