just when I'm thinking of buying an M1710 T7200 7950gtx, I read about the new Inspirons which will be out to the market soon..
I'm looking for a 17' so I think it will be Inspiron 1720.. or is there any other?

anyone knows which will be better?
what will be the difference between them?
should I just wait for the new Inspiron or just take the xps?

for gaming, definately the M1710, since not too many games will force DX10 compatability just yet

AFAIK, the fastest DX10 mobile gfx card available so far is 8600M GT. But I’m sure 8800 will be released pretty soon. So I’d say wait a while.

I don't know, I don't think we will be seeing 8800 soon, because nVidia announced and advertised the 8700GT as the new flagship, there might be some trouble for the mobile 8800 - probably power consumption.

8600m GT also attracts me though, but is it actually better than m1710's 7950 gtx?

I have a 1710 and wouldn't change it for the world. The gaming is smooth and fast on it.

    another question pls..

I'm currently overseas and thinking of buying a notebook whilst..
if I buy from any Asians Dell, and say they don't provide english Windows Vista and give me non-english Windows Vista,
afaik, we can change display (UI) languages to english or any other languages by downloading from windows updates.. is that right?
so I think it's not really a problem..... or is it?

but with the OS OEM dvd on non-english, it means I need to download english language update from windows updates everytime I reinstall my notebook?

    need some advices here..

Any of you folks know if we might be able to upgrade the 8600GT in the 1720 to something faster, like the 8700 when it comes out? I know folks have been able to upgrade the e1705 to the 7900GS/7900GTX without too much trouble. Do we see this as a possibility with the 1720? Just speculating here..........
